Shad is a month-long program for grade 10 & 11s. Shad offers classrooms with university level STEAM and entrepreneurship content and access to mentors.

STEM Fellowship - Big Data Challenge

The Big Data Challenge (BDC) for high school students is an inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, experiential learning program that strengthens students’ problem-solving and critical thinking abilities by working with Open Data. By allowing students to undertake independent research projects that tackle real-world problems, the BDC synergizes with both classroom and extracurricular experiences to foster an active digital citizenship position and prompt new sustainable development innovative ideas.

Venture Academy McMaster

Venture Academy is back again with another exciting fleet of workshops to choose from. They offer a variety of virtual and in-person engineering and coding summer programs for students. Venture Academy also offers virtual science and math workshops for classrooms. These programs are run by Engineering students at McMaster University.

Catalyst

The Catalyst Summer Program is a 2-week program that offers a unique, interdisciplinary approach to the “traditional leadership program”. Drawing from the University of Waterloo’s strengths in engineering, science, and innovation, high school students develop leadership skills within a community and problem-based context - with real opportunities to put new skills to practice!
